The Women"s march extends globally

What first was planned for Washington, spread all over the globe. Women marched against Donald Trump on Saturday. The crowds were impressive.

Starting from D.C, to Los Angeles, to London, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, Sydney, Warsaw, Macau, Kolkata (India), Athens and even in Antarctica, where a small group of women united, the event was big.

Although the crowds were huge everywhere, by far the most impressive was the one in Washington. At the half of the day there was half a million people and the number was growing.

Not only women, but men attended too to support rights and the things they believe in.

Many wore pink hats and carried signs and all chanted about Trump. Many called the president for his misogyny and for the times he had such comments during his campaign and not only.

In Los Angeles the crowd was huge too. The march started at Pershing Square and continued to the City Hall. Organizers say that about 750,000 people were attending.

“We stand together in solidarity for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health and our families, recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country,” said their statement.

The march doesn’t want to be a protest, but just a way for people to express their voice and openly fight for rights.

Both in Washington and Los Angeles, numerous celebrities attended: Demi Lovato, Barbra Streisand, Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron, Emma Watson and Kerry Washington amongst others.

While people were marching on the streets, Trump and his family went to the National Prayer Service. While he gave a speech at the C.I.A headquarters, he bragged about the crowd he had on the inauguration day, when in fact there were more people attending the march than his ceremony.

Hillary Clinton showed her support for the march and took to Twitter to say a few words: “Thanks for standing, speaking & marching for our values @womensmarch. Important as ever. I truly believe we’re always Stronger Together.”
