On Sunday, the former secretary of state attended a Broadway show called “The Color Purple”. As she appeared there, the whole public welcomed her with a standing ovation.
According to The New York Times, Clinton was there with her husband Bill Clinton and their daughter, Chelsea.
After she lost the presidential elections to Donald Trump, Clinton has been rarely seen. She has been keeping a low profile. Even though she lost, people still support her and manifest a huge admiration towards her.
Several videos posted on social media shows how the public is leaning over the balcony as they film, cheer and applaud her.
Mike Pence, Vice President-elect, received a much different welcoming from the public when he attended “Hamilton” in November. Pence was both booed and applauded. The cast of “Hamilton” took a moment to say a few words for the future Vice President. Donald Trump was really offended and took to Twitter to express his indignation.
“The Color Purple” which is a Tony-winning play, had its last performance this weekend. The play is about a 20th century Black woman from the South America.
Amongst the ones standing in the public were Vogue editor Anna Wintour and Debra Messing.
As they said their farewell speech, one of the actors, Patrice Covington, acknowledged Hillary Clinton, saying: “a lot of really awesome famous and notable people here today.”
Clinton said that on January 20 she will be attending Trump’s inauguration party. Her decision expresses her fair play.
Supporters still express their admiration for Clinton and are happy whenever they see her in public.
