Nothing like a droid or a human replacement robot will be featured at the 2017 CES according to a December 31, 2106, review of what the brightest and best robot creators of the present are planning to present. The future looking experts and engineers do have a number of new innovations planned specifically for the home robot market for 2107.
The main message that the most ambitious robot inventors have to report is the dependence of new creations on artificial intelligence. The pioneering of AI by Google and Amazon has created the platform from which the latest creations have sprung. AI is expected to be the basis for more human and more useful robot creations in the future.
At present there are four main categories of robots. Industrial robots do much of the heavy lifting and intricate welding that people cannot do. Functional home robots take care of the mundane chores like vacuuming and grocery inventory and ordering. AI enabled assistants keep people on time and informed all of the time. Very human like humanoid robots are presently caring for bedridden patients, entertaining children, and doing housework.
A few of the 2017 CES improvements in robotics include AI that can play chess like any master chosen from a list, human skin that has texture and temperature, a home robot that takes care of home security, robot waiters that can fill drink cups, and upgraded AI that makes the potential for home robots to act human possible.
The 2017 CES will not reveal a Star Wars or Star Trek robot. The majority of the newest tech is still in the development stage. The show will display what is possible. New development caters to the markets for robots that are expected to grow by 160 percent in the next five years.
