A woman from Indiana just turned 101 years old this Monday. Eunice Modlin celebrated the special day with her family.
Although she couldn’t give an interview, her granddaughter dished on her secrets for a longer life. Tammy. Eunice’s granddaughter revealed that the 101-year-old eats everyday “two pieces of dark chocolate.” She also revealed that she only takes a smaller quantity to keep her weight on track.
But dark chocolate isn’t the only secret. Eunice lives a healthy lifestyle, eating vegetables from her own garden. She never smoked and never drank alcohol. Her health is really good now, even if she has from time to time problems with her balance or with her eyesight.
The 101-year-old always goes to the church and attends prayer meetings.
Eunice isn’t the only one that gets to live as much from her family. Her brother from Texas is 100 years old.
This age is also guaranteed by her active life from when she was young. Eunice used to play archery. She, her husband and the family traveled across the state to compete. She even managed to get into the Guinness Book of World Records after she shot the arrow the farthest.
Even though she went through tough times as well, Eunice remained optimistic. Her motto is:”You don’t always get what you want, but you get what you need.”
Eunice’s husband died in 1991, he was her “One true love”.
The 101-year-old lives with her son and receives lots of love from her family. Her granddaughter revealed that she loves her dearly, “to the moon and back.”
