Burj Khalifa celebrates India’s Republic Day

During an official visit to Dubai, the Indian Prime-Minister Narendra Modi was greeted with a special surprise.

At least, that’s what was circling online.

An epic picture with the Burj Khalifa ‘dressed’ in the Indian flag went viral on social media.

The spectacular photo was probably seen by the Indian politician as well.

However, according to Dubai’s Administration, the picture was fictional and the news was denied.

But, the idea stuck on the official’s head and, according to some sources, will be materialized.

One of the most famous skyscrapers in the world will get a makeover on India’s 68th Republic Day.

As a sign of respect and honor towards the Indian people, Burj Khalifa will lit up the Indian tricolor two days in a row, starting with today.

The surprise will be accompanied by a Dubai Fountain show.

Other ceremonies will be hosted by the Indian Consulate from Dubai.

The reception will be followed by a flag-hoisting spectacle at the Indian High School grounds in Oud Metha.

The institution organized a march performed by its students and a cultural moment entitled “Aaj Ki Shaam Desh Ke Naam”.

The program includes traditional Indian dancing moments.

According to the local press, the celebration hosts different food stands with various delicious Indian specialties.

One of the main reasons for this massive celebration is the official visit of Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in India.

The Arabian state leader is expected in New Delhi on Wednesday by President Pranab Mukherjee.

Apart from the receptions and other fun activities, the two leaders will discuss the relationship between their states.
