The soundtrack from the successful movie has reached the second place after it was previously at Number 15. This is the result of last weeks’ Golden Globes Awards, where the film won in each category it was nominated at, therefore establishing a new record. It won seven awards in total.

The Weeknd and his “Starboy” are still number one for the third week in a row. On January 12, the album had 63,000 units. “La La Land” had 42,000 units.

The chart is based on the sales of the albums, on streaming albums and on track equivalent albums.

On January 18, Billboard will post on its website the chart where The Weeknd features at number one.

‘La La Land’s place was powered by the traditional album sales. More than 42,000 copies of the album were sold. It was the best sold album of the week. On the Top Album Sales chart the soundtrack reached number one.

The soundtrack from “Moana”, the Disney movie, reaches third place with 39,000 units. For the first time, the chart features two soundtracks in the top three after one year and a half. The last time this happened was on May 30, 2015, when “Pitch Perfect 2” and “Fifty shades of Grey” were number one and number three respectively.

On number four is Bruno Mars’ ‘24K magic”, followed by “Your Eyez Only” from J. Cole. The fifth spot is held by the recording from the Hamilton cast.  “Traveller” from Chris Stapleton closes the chart on number ten.
