TMZ posted the video of a poor German Shepherd being dug into water as he was clearly scared. This happens on the set of “A Dog’s Purpose” and people are not happy about it.

PETA has already reacted and asked to boycott the movie.

The video shows the dog, named Hercule, as he is put into water and then out, much to his dislike. A voice is heard saying “Just throw him in!”, believing the dog will calm down once he is in the water. Then, after Hercule is completely pushed into the water, people start screaming and rushing there.

The shooting for the movie takes place in Canada. Hercule is not the only one that appears in the movie, at least five more dogs are linked to the film. “A Dog’s Purpose” is an adaptation after a novel from 2010, written by W. Bruce Cameron. The novel is about the relationship between a man and a dog.

“The apparent on-set incident, which is hard to watch, may come as an unwelcome surprise to unsuspecting moviegoers who care about dogs — especially given the title of the film, based on the hit book of the same name,” declared PETA.

On the set of the movie was a man that needed to ensure that animals are safe, he has been suspended since then.

Universal Pictures weighed on the matter and said that they will investigate. Amblin Pictures also responded and said that they are sure that dogs are treated with care. They said that Hercule had to practice the water scene for more days to ensure that he is used with it.

The director responded and said that he wasn’t on set when the video was taken, but he will make sure that proper investigations will be done.
