Manchester United is not unlucky anymore, after fortunate win at Crystal Palace

Thanks to the late minute victory, made possible by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Jose Mourinho’s bad luck excuse wanes.

A frustrated Mourinho said last month that his team, Manchester United, was the most unlucky team in Premier League, but that statement was contradicted by the fortunate 2-1 win at Selhurst Park.

Ibrahimovic’s goal came quite late, giving a dramatic but almost deserved with to United, letting the Crystal Palace team feeling a bit cheated by luck.

Adding to injury was the fact that after a violent tackle on Wilfried Zaha, defender Marcos Rojo wasn’t sent off as it should have been.

The referee only gave Rojo a yellow card and still kept in on the field even after another challenge from the back on striker Christian Benteke in the second half.

Rojo himself could be considered the luckiest player in the league after he escaped yet again ten days earlier after a similarly hard foul.

The luck was just beginning, as the first goal came in first half’s stoppage time. A free-kick from Juan Mata made Ibrahimovic stop the ball on his chest which came off his hand and fell to Pogba who scored from a position that looked offside. Again the referee was not able to blow his whistle and Manchester was in the lead.

After an equalizer by Cristal Palace in the 66^th minute, Manchester struggled forward. It took again Pogba to have a major role, with a magnificent through-ball pass to Zlatan who raced in and had a powerful shot in the far corner grabbing a lucky victory for United at the latest minute.
