US authorities issued a meteorological warning for bad weather in Hawaii.

The biggest layer of snow was scattered near the mountain peaks Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.

Meanwhile, other areas of tropical islands were hit by strong floods.

Authorities announced they will be forced to close the access roads to Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa until Monday.

Hawaii also faced heavy rains and the average temperature in the lowlands dropped to 20 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologists say this rare phenomenon is due to a cold mass of air that crossed the region and caused very low temperatures, informs CNN.

Mauna Kea (The White Mountain) located on the Hawaiian island (USA) is the highest mountain in the world. From its base that can be found deep into the Pacific Ocean to the top, the giant measures 10,205 m.

6,000 meters of the mountain is underwater, while the rest of 4,205 meters are above the sea level. Mauna Kea is 1,357 m taller than Mount Everest.
