After an unsuccessful engagement with Perrie Edwards that finished in tears, you’d believe that Zayn would be skeptical when it comes to offering a ring this time around.

But while essentially every girl on the planet would instantly say ‘yes’ – it turns out Gigi was not so keen on the thought.

A source told Life & Style the suggestion was “too sudden” for her and that she “does not feel ready yet”.

It comes after the stunning model confessed that she is been quietly suffering from Hashimoto’s disease.

The disorder – which frequently results in hypothyroidism – forced Gigi to take drugs which can impact the metabolism, and can cause weight gain as well as melancholy.

The 21-year old told Elle: “My metabolism really transformed like crazy. I ‘ve Hashimoto’s disease. It’s a thyroid disorder”.

After fans noticed her super-slim appearance in Paris on the Victoria’s Secret show, she was eager to quell rumors.

While the autoimmune disease is more common in middle-aged girls, it can strike at any given age and changes several other high profile girls including Victoria Justice, Zoe Saldana, Gina Rodriguez and Nia Vardalos.

Mirror Celeb has reached out for comment to the representative of Zayn.

The pair is dating for more than a year and they made their first appearance as an official couple at the Met Gala dressed in matching metallic outfits.

An insider claimed that Gigi is desperate not to follow in the footsteps of her mum, Yolanda, who has had two very messy divorces.
