Wednesday a family in Fort Worth, Texas, called the police. The mother, Jacqueline Craig, 46 years old, wanted to report that a white man sporting a beard has harassed her 7-year-old son and choked him. Alongside her two teenage daughters, she was making the report the policeman that arrived on the scene.
What followed would be hard to believe, if not for the Facebook Live record made by her daughters. As she was calmly explained what the man did, she mentions that it started because that person saw her you son throw a paper on the ground. The officer asks her “why don’t you teach your son not to litter?” and states that the man had every right to choke her son.
This understandably upset the woman who said that those words were unsettling. He warns her to be quiet or she’ll make things worse at which point one of her daughter’s steps between them to try and calm her mother. That is when all went wrong, as the police officer started throwing everyone to the ground handcuff them, the daughters and mother alike.
According to a spokesperson for the police department, the officer was “place on restricted duty status by the Chief of Police pending the outcome of the internal investigation.”
As of this morning the mother and daughters, we’re still in jail. This is just the latest in the many abusive acts conducted by the police in the United States.
