Former Minister Confesses: “There was a plan from the FBI set up to frame Julian Assange”

Ögmundur Jonasson, former minister in the Iceland government, confessed recently that the US sent many FBI agents to frame the leader of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange, five years ago. It looks like this was known since 2013, but the current member of Icelandic parliament kept quiet about what happened.

However, he recently revealed what happened back then. Apparently, he was contacted by the U.S. and told about a hacking attempt to destroy Iceland’s government database and that FBI will investigate the problem. He was very skeptical about what was told and about the real intention of the FBI. He told the media that the thing about an agency that is very interested in offering help can become a manipulator.

Jonasson says he figured out the whole picture, when the agents arrived in Iceland, in August. He confessed that the only reason they came was to assess a possible collaboration with the Icelandic government in a sting operation to frame Julian Assange and the transparency radical organization.

Once he understood what was happening, the minister apparently talked to the FBI agents, to which he told that shutting down WikiLeaks wasn’t on his agenda and that if they forced his hand, he would back the non-profit WikiLeaks, since he supports the protection of whistleblowers. He then ordered the agents to stop all activities in his country and forced them to leave.

The former minister said he had asked them to leave because “they had misrepresented the purpose of their visit”.
