An American website has made a ranking list of celebrities who have been most generous this year.

We are talking about those stars who have been using their fame and fortune to do good to other people. The head of the ranking, conducted by the website DoSomething.org, is the famous singer Beyonce.

The superstar, aged 35, has struggled this year for various humanitarian causes, including the lack of water in Flint, Michigan, gender equality, the rights of black people, through the ‘Black lives matter’ campaign, but also for the victims of armed violence.

Moreover, some of the mothers who were killed in armed attacks have appeared in Bey’s most recent video ‘Lemonade’, holding photos of their children.

Beyonce also donated the sum of $ 82,000 from the ticket sales during the world tour ‘Formation’ to help the people overcome the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. The artist held a charity concert to raise funds for the Robin Hood Foundation.

The author of Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling, is also among the most generous celebrities. She has donated over the years, around $ 160 million for various humanitarian purposes. She particularly supports ‘One Parent Families’ Foundation, a Scottish organization that supports single parents.

Besides her television appearances, Oprah Winfrey is also involved in various humanitarian activities and apparently, she donated over $ 50 million in the last few years. Her latest donation was worth $ 1,5 million. The money went to a public school in Newark, New Jersey.

The top is completed by celebrities such as Lin-Manuel Miranda, Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato. Taylor, for example, donated $ 1 million for the flood victims in Louisiana, while Demi Lovato donated her money to people with mental problems.
