Very useful for reviewing interesting posts, the ‘bookmark’ feature is now available on Instagram.

Instagram users are offering a new tool to fix photos and other interesting posts discovered throughout the social network.

Appearing as an alternative for the ‘Liked Photos’ section, the ‘bookmark’ feature offers you the opportunity to save any type of post, including any user account without their owners to be informed in advance or to require their consent.

The marked content becomes saved in a list that can be accessed from your own profile page.

All the pictures and videos are saved and they are also private. They cannot be viewed by anyone and the author will not be announced that you just saved his post.

Unlike the use of ‘Follow’, which requires the consent of the data subject, ‘bookmark’ provides access only to public post, also visible throughout the ‘search’ function.

However, the ‘bookmark’ feature allows users to follow certain posts without that person to appear at the ‘Followed section’, which raised some concerns regarding the use of secretly supervising the activities of other users.

Unlike most novelties launched in the last year, which were clearly a method of monetization the product owned by Facebook, the new facility has a strict target to increase the functionality of the application – transforming the favorite contents in a classic option regarding the ‘photosharing’ section.

The new facility is included in the 10.2 version of Instagram for Android and iOS. In the upcoming weeks, the new feature will become available in the Windows 10 application.
