Apple may gain access to the latest movies before everybody else does

It has been recently discovered that Apple might be in talks with some of the biggest Hollywood studios. The Cupertino company wants to obtain access first to the latest movies on the market.

Today, some of the largest Hollywood movie studios give exclusive rights to newest movies for a period of 90 days or more.

Only after that period has passed, the productions are allowed to appear on DVDs and can be downloaded online.

But, as Bloomberg website writes, over the last period of time, the number of people going to the cinema or purchasing online movies has stagnated.

Under these circumstances, film producers are feeling obliged to find new ways to grow their sales.

Apple, for example, proposed the Hollywood giants a very interesting deal.

According to some rumors scattered lately, the American company wants to get quicker access to the latest movies in order to increase their incomes generated by iTunes.

Some studios, such as 21st Century Fox Inc., Warner Bros and Universal Pictures, have recently confirmed that they would take into consideration renting movies in exchange for large amounts of money.

Of course, at this moment, we cannot be sure that the studios will indeed agree to work with Apple.

A measure such as the current one would satisfy the increasing demand on the market and would help reducing online piracy, according to a Warner Bros official.

The possibility they found in order to solve the piracy problem was online renting of the newest movies, with prices between $25 and $50.
