Gheorghe Hagi: Messi and Barcelona have changed football forever

Hagi spoke in L’Equipe about how Messi, Barcelona and Catalans’ style of playing football have changed worldwide football forever.

’Messi, besides his talent, is surrounded by phenomenal players. He had the chance to be part of a team with 20 other exceptional players’, stated Hagi.

He also added they changed football forever with their pragmatic, simple playing style, so they managed to transform any complicated technique into the easiest thing.

’What matters in Barcelona is their spirit, their talent and techniques. All that matters is you have to find talented players,’ said Gheorghe Hagi.

Hagi considers that a player blessed with great talent is only fulfilled when he plays for a great team: ’To be a good player, a great player, you have to play for a very large team. Because the team is capable of turning you into an even greater player’.
