On New Year’s Eve, a club in Istanbul was the victim of a terrorist attack. Many were injured and about 39 people died. The police have been investigating and looking for the one responsible.

The Turkish forces arrested a suspect and now he has confessed to be responsible for the attack. Abdulkadir Masharipov is the main suspect, he was arrested last night. He was found in a friend’s house, in Esenyurt.

The Turkish authorities revealed this morning that his fingertips match the ones found at the crime place and that he received special training in Afghanistan. The man speaks four languages.

The officials believe he entered the country through its eastern borders. They also say that it is clear he is involved with ISIS.

When the police caught him, the suspect was with his son, aged four. He will be moved to the Istanbul Police Headquarters. A video shows the man in handcuffs and with blood all over him. His friend and other three were arrested. They were all in the same apartment.

According to a television channel, the police tracked him about five days ago, but wanted to watch him for more.

The man confessed this morning everything. He is from Uzbekistan and born in 1983.

“He was trained in Afghanistan and can speak four languages. He’s a well-trained terrorist,” said the television channel. The other four that were arrested are also linked to jihadists.

At the apartment where he was found, the police took two weapons, clips and 185,000 euros.

ISIS has said that it was involved in the attack to punish Turkey for its involvement in Syria.
