Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a personal assistant who is to be called Bixby, as various rumors have stated in the past. But today, the information came directly from the Koreans.

Samsung has accidentally mentioned on its website the name ‘Bixby’, confirming all the rumors.

We have known starting a few weeks ago that Samsung bought a personal assistant, developed by Siri’s creators and it looks like Brixby will reach the Samsung Galaxy S8.

‘Bixby’ is quite an unusual name for such a software, but probably Samsung did not find a more attractive and appropriate name to use with Samsung Galaxy S8.

Although the specialists at Google have tried to put pressure on Samsung to implement support for Google Assistant, the Korean company wants Samsung Galaxy S8 to have Bixby assistant.

In this idea, the Samsung officials are risking a war with Google because of Samsung Galaxy S8, but at least they will have a total control over the personal assistant.

Bixby is to be a fairly faithful copy of Siri and Google Assistant, but with some new features that should distinguish it from the competition. Samsung puts his hopes in Bixby to generate high sales for Samsung Galaxy S8, but it is to be seen how many people will be impressed by it.

More precisely, Brixby and S8 will be launched in the spring of 2017.

Bixby personal assistant was developed by Viv Labs, the same startup that invented Siri, which was taken over by Samsung in October.

Another innovation that Samsung will deploy with the release of Galaxy S8 is the optical fingerprint sensor. This will enable users to log in securely by simply pressing the screen that will recognize the owner’s fingerprint, as Samsung has stated.
