Donald Trump discusses NATO and possible deal with Russia

The president-elect Donald Trump has said many times that he plans to leave NATO. Now, Trump gave an interview to some European newspapers and said all of his thoughts on NATO, Russia and Brexit.

The interviews were posted on Sunday by The Times of London and Germany’s Bild.

When talking about Brexit, Trump said that he already saw it coming and that soon other countries will follow in Britain’s footsteps. He thinks the European Union is controlled by Germany as a way to defeat the United States.

After he will take over the White House, Trump wants to meet with the British Prime Minister and close a trade deal.

The president-elect plans on having a strong relationship with Russia and predicts many good deals. One of the first things he will do is take away the sanctions the US imposed after the attack from 2014 of Crimea.

“They have sanctions on Russia — let’s see if we can make some good deals with Russia. For one thing, I think nuclear weapons should be way down and reduced very substantially, that’s part of it,’’ said Trump to the British newspaper.

Regarding NATO, he called it “obsolete” and not right anymore as it was founded many years ago. He also pointed that some countries don’t pay how they should.

He also dished on Angela Merkel and the immigrants issue, calling it a “catastrophic mistake”. As Merkel is running for her fourth term, Trump, although he respects her, doesn’t know whether she should be re-elected or not.

He also said that all the people who will enter US will face major security checks.
