Recep Tayyip Erdogan about Donald Trump: ‘In my opinion, being labeled dictator is a good thing’

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed on Wednesday his support for the new President of the United States, Donald Trump, during a press conference in Istanbul, reported DPA.


‘In my opinion, being labeled dictator is a good thing’, stated Erdogan Tayyip.


Donald Trump was labeled as a ‘dictator’ on several occasions, especially during the protests carried in Europe and U.S. after the billionaire scored the victory in the presidential election from 8th November.


The head of Turkish state accused the European Union of not respecting the outcome of the U.S. presidential election.


‘Isn’t that democracy? The presidential election is not about democracy? There was a winner of these elections and it is Trump. Follow this!’, affirmed Recep Tayyip Erdogan.


The critics accused Donald Trump of ‘islamophobia’, but Erdogan said that this is not important and that politicians often change their opinions.


Also, the London administration expressed its interest in strengthening its ‘special relationship’ with the United States, while the Government will soon launch Theresa May Brexit procedure. According to the British politicians, the official meeting will shape the future position of the United Kingdom in the world.


Meanwhile, Trump invited May in the United States as soon as possible, during their first telephone conversation after the presidential victory, the British prime minister’s office announced.


According to the Sunday Times, the UK Government expressed hope that an official state visit  ‘will become its secret weapon’. The official talk will consist in a meeting between Trump and the leader of the campaign for Brexit, Nigel Farage.
