If you dream to become a student at Hogwarts or you want to be part of Harry Potter’s team, Google invented something that might cheer you up.

According to the hi-tech giant, from now on you cast spells just like Harry Potter and his followers, but instead of using a wand, you will use your smartphone.

According to Google, from now you will become able to turn off the flashlight from your phone by casting a spell, just like the pupils from Hogwarts. The not-so-pleasant part? This feature is only available on Android devices.

Apparently, this is so easy that even ‘muggles’ will be able to perform the spell, says Google.

To cast the spell, users will say ‘Ok Google’ and then will say ‘Lumos’ in order to turn on the flashlight. To turn it off, you only have to spell the word ‘Nox’.

Google does not stop here. They also introduced the ‘Silencio’ spell, meant to switch your phone to the silent mode.

One of the creators of the function is none other than the ‘ magic apprentice’ who works at the American company, David Blanar, who revealed the news on the company’s website.

This update is part of a promotional campaign launched by Warner Bros for the ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ film which will premiere on November 18 in the United States.

The film is part of the world created by J. K. Rowling and the action takes place ten years before the story of Harry Potter.

The movie tells the story of Newt Scamander from New York. The Android users have the opportunity to explore the world of Scamander using Google Street View tool.
