A university in Bangkok is offering a new course on how to prepare for death and how to face the death of someone close, while the country continues to cry for the death of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who died last month, as DPA reports.

Entitled ′The beautiful death′ or ′Quality death′, as the literal translation from Thai sais, this new course accepts students starting this Wednesday at Chulalongkorn University from Bangkok.

Teacher Aim-Utchim Wattanaburanon, the initiator of the course which will start in January 2017, told DPA that there is no coincidence that this idea came during a period of national mourning.

′The classroom activities will be designed to offer the students the opportunity to lament the loss of loved ones and to understand that it’s OK to cry′, said the ′beautiful death′ teacher, Aim-Utchim.

The purpose of the course is to help the students to prepare for death, which should be seen as a natural event, and not be afraid of it. The professor added that this training should be both a mental and financial one.

The course will show the students the value of life so that they should live life to the fullest and they should not hurt others or commit suicide, she added.

The initiative was a success and a large number of students showed a strong interest towards it. The news about it became viral.

Bhumibol Adulyadej was the king of Thailand. Acclaimed by the public as “the Great, he is also known as Rama IX. His reign began on June 9, 1946. He became the monarch with the longest reign in the history of Thailand. The monarch was so important to Thailand nation that his death affected the economy and financial markets.
