Most children under the age of 12 years old usually spend their free time playing computer games or go out with their friends. It is not the case of Campbell ‘Bumble’ Remess in Australia though.
The boy began three years ago to sew toys for children with cancer and now this activity has exploded, according to today.com.
Campbell started this project when he was just 9 years old. He urged his parents for Christmas gifts for children less fortunate than him. Because they could not afford to do his pleasure, the boy decided to improvise. Thus, he began to sew toys for children in hospitals after tutorials found on the Internet.
Since then he began to do so almost daily and now its plush toys are not different at all from the ones in the stores. In the last three years, the 12-year-old boy sewed over 800 plush toys, which reached children who suffer from cancer and other illnesses and are hospitalized.
‘If he could, he would stay 24 hours / 7 days a week at the sewing machine,’ the boy’s mother told the reporters, who testified how much other children and his parents ask him to go and play.
Campbell, however, has other serious concerns. The toys for sick children he makes are bringing indescribable happiness to him. Often, the boy walks in hospitals to give children the toys. The boy even made an account on Gofundme.com to collect money for the materials, where there are many people which are donating money, being moved by his gesture.
