King Salman was on his way to attend an historic meeting with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, when he suffered the funniest and awkward incident ever at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport, writes BBC.

The escalators made out of gold encountered some technical problems, exactly when the monarch was preparing to get out of the aircraft.

The weird moment has put the King’s patience to great test and face a rather “national security-threatening” decision: to go down the stairs on foot or wait for the problem to be remedied.

After twelve seconds in which he looked like this “powerless” human being rather than someone who is considered like almost and entity, King of Saudi Arabia decided to go down the stairs just like any other regular “peasant”, step by step, except His Highness benefited from the support of an army of delegates.

Saudi Arabia signed a preliminary agreement on Thursday with Russia that paves the way for the acquisition of some Russian S-400 missile defense systems while their production will take place in the Saudi kingdom, a traditional ally of the United States.

The agreement was signed during the official visit of King Salman to Moscow.

The King was greeted in Kremlin by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to BBC, the agreement consists in the purchase of the Riad of S-400 type systems, but also of Kornet-EM antitank systems, TOS-1A shell launchers, AGS-30 grenade launchers and assault rifles Kalaşnikov type AK-103, announced the Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) in a statement.
