The father of the 20-year-old girl who killed five people and injured five more a week ago claims that he is willing to beg on his knees for forgiveness in front of the grieving families.

Alyona Zaitseva was driving her brand-new Lexus when she ran a red light.

Her vehicle crashed into a Volkswagen Touareg and then ricocheted into a group of pedestrians.

Five people were killed, and six others injured, including a pregnant woman.

Since that night, the young woman is in jail, while the incident is being investigated by the authorities.

During her last court appearance, she complained nonstop in front of the judges while she was wearing a pair of 1.000-euro boots, writes metro.co.uk.

Her conditional release request was rejected, which made her oligarch father to burst into tears.

“A terrible tragedy took some people’s lives. Words cannot describe terror and suffering for those who have perished or are injured. On our knees we ask forgiveness, in the name of our daughter, to the families of the missing or injured in this horrible accident”, the man said.

They even offered £1,100,000 to the families of the victims.

However, the Ukrainian oligarch has clearly stated the driver of the Volkswagen is, in fact, guilty.

“The Volkswagen hit the car in which our daughter was. Due to the powerful collision, the car hit the people who were crossing the street. We will accept the judge’s decision anyway”, added the oligarch.

The Volkswagen driver, who is now in the hospital, admits that he took off shortly before the light turned green, but says that when he got to the intersection, the color changed and “could physically not react to a car that flies with such a speed”, according to his lawyer.

The tragedy took place on the streets of Khardiv.
