Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt would have offered to help the Uganda authorities to capture military leader Joseph Kony, writes Us Weekly.

According to an article published by the Sunday Times, Luis Moreno Ocampo, former head of the International Criminal Court, would have asked the actress to be part of a very elaborate plan to make the 56-year-old leave his hideout.

The details related to the investigation were published after the American publication obtained a series of emails.

Jolie, 42, spoke in the past about Kony, stating in a 2010 interview for Nightline that she would be more than happy to “knock down” some people like Kony if she would ever get the chance.

“He is a horrible human being”, revealed the actress for The Telegraph in 2012 about the leader of the “Lord’s Resistance Army,” a guerrilla group operating in Uganda.

Kony, who was accused of kidnapping children to turn them into soldiers or sex slaves, was indicted in 2015 for war crimes and crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, but he could not be captured.

The plan to capture it would involve sending Jolie and Pitt with a US special forces unit in the Central African Republic, near Kony’s secret camp.

Moreno Ocampo claimed that the actress suggested him to invite Kony to a private dinner where he would be captured and arrested.

“Brad supports me. Let’s talk about logistics. A lot of love”, wrote Angeline Jolie to the first Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.

According to the Sunday Times, the plan has never been implemented.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt broke up in 2016. The actress’s representatives did not respond to Us Weekly’s for comments.
