Germany celebrates Lukas Podoski as he says his farewell

After an impressive career, it was time for Lukas Podolski to say his farewell to the sports world and to his beloved team.


Last night, the megastar played his last game for Germany that, of curse, ended with their victory. Podolski was the one to bring the victory after his stunning goal.


It was the perfect way for him to end his career, with one last gorgeous strike. As per usual, Podoski did his trademark strike with the left foot that had people in awe.


The 31-year-old was celebrated by his team, by the audience. At the end of the match, his team thrown him the air while the crowd gave him a standing ovation.


The manager of the club, Joachim Low, wanted to honor the megastar and named him the captain for the very first time.


The ones in audience had huge banners to honor him, wore shirts and masks and marked his nickname “Poldi” on the seats. Podolski said his farewell in a big way, he received a hero treatment.


A big screen was displayed and showed some of his best moments throughout his career. The Football player also received some gifts from the club.


Lukas held a touching speech, he was visibly nervous as he thanked his supporters and his club for the thirteen years.


He then run to the audience, where he hugged his fans and took pictures with them.


On social media, his fans praised him and his extraordinary last game. He will be greatly missed at the club.
