China is offering huge financial rewards to individuals who possess information related to foreign secret agents.

The Beijing Government announced a 500.000 Yuan reward ($72.000) to every single person who will divulge this type of information, reports BBC.

The Chinese officials believe every resident of the metropolis should bring a contribution in the ‘fight against evil and spies’.

Furthermore, last year the Chinese authorities launched this awareness campaign meant to alert those who might walk in the trap of a special agent.

The new rewards were disclosed by the representatives of the national security department.

Every Beijing resident is now able to disclose this type of information to the authorities through a special telephone line, mail or in person.

Most rewards are between 10.000 and 50.000 Yuan, depending on how valuable the information or if it has the power to prevent or stop any espionage activity.

The Chinese authorities affirmed Beijing is a ‘top priority for many secret agencies from abroad’.

The massive campaign was initiated after a group of fishermen from the Jiangsu province found ‘an unidentified object that contained foreign letters’.

Apparently, the Chinese experts discovered the object was, in fact, a special device meant to collect data about China.
