A cargo chip has gone missing in the South Atlantic and more than twenty are believed to be dead. The ship is entitled Stellar Daisy, is from South Korea and went missing on Saturday.
Earlier during that day, the passengers of the ship sent a distress call when they were in Uruguay and hours later, the ship went completely missing. Only two sailors were rescued, while nothing else is known about the others. These two were found on a life raft.
According to a publication from South Korea, the ship sent a message to its company, Polaris Shipping, a day before it was reported missing. In the message, they wrote that they were sinking.
The ship was coming from Brazil and heading towards China. All that the authorities believe until now is that the ship sank. The majority of the crew was Filipino, while eight others were from South Korea. There were only 22 on the ship.
Right now, the ministry from South Korea are asking Uruguay and Brazil to help them and search for the missing ship and crew.
Until now, all that they found are lifeboats and fuel among others, but there is still no sign for the crew. They believe that they are all dead, but the search will continue. The chances of finding them alive are decreasing as more times passes by, but there is still hope.
What caused the ship to sink is most probably the large quantity of iron ore it was carrying. This most likely created movement and lead to the sink. All that the two sailors that were saved said is that water was entering the ship.
