It looks like the fight between Spain and the United Kingdom over Gibraltar is getting worse. This fight erupted immediately after Article 50 was triggered and see the two states as enemies over this territory.

To make things worse, Spain seems to support Scotland’s wish for independence. The First Minister of Scotland wants to keep a referendum to give her people independence from the UK, and although Theresa May is totally against this, Spain is totally supportive.

The Foreign Minister from Spain declared that his country is fully supportive of Scotland and if they choose to join the European Union as an independent country, then they will have all of their support.

This is a totally different approach they have now, as a while ago they were totally against this.

The fight over Gibraltar and the lack of cooperation from the UK is definitely something that made them offer support to Scotland, probably only to infuriate the Brits.

This declaration comes after the UK Defense Secretary declared that they are willing to fight Spain to whichever extent over Gibraltar. They think of it as their territory and they are going to do everything for it.

He added that the people of Gibraltar have made it clear that they do not want to be ruled by the Spanish.

Theresa May is the main person that is ready to go at war over this territory. On the day Brexit took effect, the Prime Minister declared that they are going to respect the wishes of the citizens from Gibraltar.

It’s still not clear where this fight is going to lead, none of the countries seem to be willing to give up.
