The actress is born on February 27th. This year, she would have turned 85 years old. So, to celebrate this icon, have a look at her house.

Let’s make one thing clear: her public persona and the real her are completely different. In public, Elizabeth displayed this diva-like persona. She wore only couture and always was sporting diamonds.

But, besides the image everyone knew her for, Elizabeth was much more. She was a philanthropist and was always fighting for a cause.

A photographer released a book that explored the differences between the Elizabeth in public life and the one in her most intimate moments. The book is entitled “700 Nimes Road”, because this is Taylor’s home address.

Catherine Opie is the one that released the book. It contains a series of photographs of the late star at her home or of her personal items.

Opie took over three thousand photos of Elizabeth’s house. She spent almost six months taking them. She took them when Elizabeth was still alive, right before she passed away.

The photos are taken just in their home. She didn’t take any portraits of the actress. Opie didn’t met her.

Regardless of the image she promoted in public, Elizabeth was very different in her intimacy. People tend to think of her as shallow, but in fact she just had a thing for fashion. She was materialistic indeed.

Her house reflects her both personalities. It contains works of art and lavish items, but is also really cozy.
