The White House is losing another key-person
Philip Bilden nominated as Secretary of Navy is retiring.
Trump’s choice for this coveted position announced his decision on Sunday, becoming the second person nominated by the president who leaves the official staff after a conflict of interests.
According to Reuters, Trump’s choice for the official duty was an investment director and a former military officer.
‘After a long examination, I decided I will not be able to satisfy the exigencies of the governmental bureau without an excessive interruption and a material disadvantage of my family’s financial interests’, wrote Biden in a press statement.
Philip Bilden’s announcement left Trump and National Defense Secretary Jim Mattis without any candidates for the job.
Vincent Viola, the man designated by the president for the position as Secretary of Army also withdrew this month.
Mattis expressed his disappointment in a press statement, mentioning that he understands Bilden’s decision.
‘In the next days I will recommend president Trump a leader able to guide the Navy and a Marine’s Corp able to fulfill the president’s vision of re-building our army’, added the American Secretary of Defense.
The agency mentioned the White House questioned Bilden’s capacity of leading the US Navy for weeks.
Apparently, his businessman status, especially his activity in Hong Kong’s holdings represented his main financial resources.
