Lately, everyone seems to think that some ingredients are really healthy and include them in their diets. Cardiologists finally give the verdict.
These ingredients have been over-hyped by nutritionists and not only. These specialists are finally setting the record straight and say what we should actually consume to prevent heart disease.
We shall start with coconut oil. Cardiologists think that we shouldn’t abuse of it as it is high in saturated fats. Palm oil has the same problem.
On the other hand, olive oil is believed to be the healthiest, but like everything else, it should be consumed in moderation.
Eggs are also hyped right now. A couple of years ago, a group of researchers said that eggs are healthy and the cholesterol is not that bad. Cardiologists, on the others hand, think that we should consume as little cholesterol as possible if we want to promote heart healthiness.
Nuts are, indeed, healthy and beneficial in a diet. But, again, they should be consumed in moderation because they have a lot of calories.
Gluten-free diets are not for everyone. Some need gluten, like the ones suffering from celiac disease.
These scientists also approached the phenomenon known as juicing. They think that we should eat fruits and veggies as a whole and not packed into a juice.
So, what we should actually eat for a healthy heart?
Vegetables, fruits and whole grains. We should get our antioxidants from these products.
Also good are: fish and a small quantity of meat. Dairy should be consumed, but only the ones that are low fat and with consideration.
