The world’s most famous clock, Big Ben, will no longer strike the exact time, writes Daily Mail

The major decision was adopted after a group of experts revealed the watch must undergo a tremendous conservation process.

On 21st August, the famous London clock will strike the hour for the last time until 2021, while a construction team specialized in bell towers will start the major rehabilitation process.

Because the project is extremely complex, the huge bell that weighs no less than 13.7 tons, announcing the exact time of 157 years, will be taken down and transferred to a safe location.

However, the watch will still be visible and will indicate the exact time, the representatives of the House of Commons have revealed.

The Londoners are determined to mark the unique process by organizing a huge event, so the administrators of the building have invited as many people as possible to gather in the Parliament Square to hear Big Ben’s last beatings.

Big Ben is the biggest bell-tower in the world and the famous four faces were designed by Augustus Pugin.

The interfaces are fixed on a seven-meter diameter iron frame that holds 312 pieces of opal glass.

At the bottom of each interface, the inscription in Latin: “Domine Salvam I Make Reginam Nostram Victoriam Primam (God defend our Queen, Victoria the First) it’s engraved.
