It’s not even mid-August, but “somehow” the Christmas season has already begun in one of London’s most famous stores

UK’s most notorious brands and high-end stores are taking advantage of the tourists who chose to visit the British capital during this time of the year.

According to the British financial advisors, most of them will not be able to return in London at the end of the year so, maybe, they will become tempted to buy presents now.

Or, at least, that’s what the managing department from Selfridge thinks.

However, most foreigners labeled the “decision” as weird, mostly because outside the weather was so hot and sunny and at Selfridges, the windows and the showrooms are decorated with globes, Santa Claus, Christmas trees and so on.

“It’s summer, indeed, but at this time of the year we have a lot of visitors from all over the world. About 2.000 a week pass only to our duty-free department. And they want to do Christmas shopping, especially since they probably will not come back to us until the end of the year. People buy a Christmas ornament they’ll hang on in the fir tree and say: <<It reminds me of my trip to London>>”, revealed Sales Manager Geraldine James.

Many Londoners are discouraged by this marketing strategy, which, they say, it’s kind of scattering the charm and joy of Christmas.

Visitors also have the opportunity to taste the culinary delights specially made for Christmas in the food district.

Bold combinations, such as marmalade with whiskey, or egg liqueur with cream cheese, are also in great demand.
