The Al Jazeera TV station in Israel was shut down by the authorities and the accreditation of its reporters was canceled

Also, the cable and satellite broadcasts will all be suspended and the headquarters in Jerusalem is going to be closed for an indefinite period, informed the Israeli Minister of Communications Ayoob Kara.

Apparently, Israel has enrolled among countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in the massive campaign of preventing the controversial TV network from operating in their territories and in the regions occupied by the Palestinian communities.

The move comes just one month after the five Arab countries decided to close all the Al Jazeera headquarters as a security measure regarding the diplomatic conflict with Qatar, state they accused of supporting terrorism.

The decision adopted by the Israeli government was mostly “inspired” by a material Al Jazeera had broadcasted about the Palestinian conflict.

Last month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the TV channel of inciting the Palestinian people to violence by broadcasting materials related to some recent events from the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

“Lately, almost all countries in our region have determined that Al-Jazeera supports terrorism and religious radicalization. And when we see that all these states have established that Al Jazeera is a tool of the Islamic State, Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran, and we are the only ones who have not done so, then something absurd it’s happening here”, stated Minister Ayoob Kara.

In response, Al-Jazeera stated they are “condemning” Israel’s decision, a country that once claimed to be “the only democratic state in the Middle East”.
