Instagram is truly fascinating

And, when you’re not busy dreaming about the lives of those Russian rich kids or Victoria’s Secret models, you can actually find interesting and useful information on the social network.

Like, if you’re interested in fashion, there’s a page which will tell/show you what designer your favorite brand is been copying or, let’s say, is been using as an inspiration source.

This is what the @diet_prada page does, whose anonymous creator seems to be working in the fashion industry and whose main concern is to unmask those designers or fashion houses who use not-so-famous designers or brands as their inspiration source without giving them any credit.

From Thierry Mugler’s “signature” dresses who look almost identical with those made by Nicolas Ghesquiere for Louis Vuitton, from Stella McCartney’s ecological leather shoes that look just like those designed by Vivienne Westwood’s for a 1985 collection, @diet_prada is on a mission.

We know that the most influential names from the fashion industry claim this concept of plagiarism is not something that matters so much because everything is being used and reused endlessly.

However, the situations highlighted by @diet_prada, are beyond scandalous

The person who administrates the account became a literal celebrity and revealed during an interview for i-D how everything has started.

“Sometimes I think we are too preoccupied with everything that is new. So I’ve been focusing on this over the past few months. How fast things are being copied”, revealed the fashion expert.
