Even the producers from HBO spend more than $10 million per episode only on costumes, some of these items can be found at Ikea

Game of Thrones it may be one of the most successful productions in the world but the budget for a single episode it will probably shock you.

According to some sources from Hollywood, the most expensive are the scenes that include dragons, especially those which imply huge fires, just like this season’s fourth episode.

However, when it comes to costumes the numbers are outrageous.

Almost 100 people are in charge with dressing, creating the costumes and the accessories and also designing the character’s outfits.

These 100 are working 24/7 just to ensure everyone is wearing the right garment and every single element in their outfit is in place in order to offer that feeling of realism, writes architecturaldigest.com.

However, the weird part when it comes to GOT’s dressers is the fact they use rugs from Ikea to create some of the pieces.

“Capes are actually Ikea rugs”, said designer Michele Clapton, the winner of an Emmy Award.

“We use everything that we can”, revealed the designer, describing the process of creating medieval-inspired garments rather challenging.

“I cut and shaved the rugs by adding leather … I want the audience to feel the smell of the costume.”

The result is a cloak that not only looks worn out but looks like a medieval garment.
