Zac Posen opens up about refusing to dress Ivanka and Melania Trump

There is a pretty long list of designers that refuse to dress both the First Lady and Ivanka Trump. Zac Posen is one of them and he now explains why.

In a recent interview, the American designer opened up about this subject. He thinks that for now he wants to keep his brand out of the politics world. There are various issues that concern him now and that everyone is questioning now that Trump is in charge.

The designer feels like some issues are deeply threatened right now, like immigration and women’s rights. Regarding these matters, Posen swears to use his voice and fight. He supports the right everyone has, of being vocal.

In the past, the designer dressed the both ladies. With Ivanka Trump, he even posed on the red carpet.

He wants to work with strong and powerful women, with whom he can communicate and whom he can also support. When it comes to Melania and Ivanka and given the political climate of the country, he fears that he cannot do that.

Regarding this issue with the FLOTUS and the First Daughter, the opinions are mixed. Some plan on supporting every woman that takes this position, while others are more subjective and already openly discussed about this matter.

For example, Tom Ford explained his decision of not dressing the two. His fashion is very expensive and he wants the First Lady to wear affordable, American fashion.

On the other hand, Melania has a thing for Micheal Kors. She chose his creations for the inauguration day and for her husband’s speech in front of the Congress. He said that she has been longtime client of his stores.

Tommy Hilfiger thinks that is is an honor to dress the FLOTUS. Diane von Furstenberg is also open to dressing Melania.
