Mazda just issued a recall of 190,102 samples of its 2007-2012 Mazda CX-7 crossovers. Specifically, vehicles included in this recall were manufactured between the 14th of February 2006 and the 9th of May 2012. The reason for this recall is a possible suspension failure due to corrosion of the vehicle’s ball joints, caused by the effects of salt water. The recall is to focus primarily on states that use salt in the winter, as this is where the danger is more amplified.

The mixture of salt and water over time increases the dangers of rust. In a vehicle, and can result in corrosion that will perforate its components. In the Mazda CX-7, water entering the front suspension will lead to corrosion of its ball joints. The corrosion could eventually make the auto part weak enough to separate it from the lower control arm. The resulting effect will then be an immediate and unwanted loss of steering control.

Unfortunately, the components are not currently available. As soon as the parts are available, dealers will replace both front lower control arms of the vehicle.

Hyundai: Hyundai combines two of its applications, blue link, and car care apps; into a single application it calls “my Hyundai with blue link”. Customers who already have blue link subscriptions can use the application to remote start the vehicle, lock and unlock it, and also set the climate control. The application also inputs car care components of how to videos and other vehicle maintenance features. The application is now available for both iOS and Android users.

Nissan: Nissan is giving three-year free subscriptions to SiriusXM travel link, and SiriusXM traffic free with a purchase of some 2017 Nissan model vehicles. SirusXM traffic free will add information about accident and construction to user’s navigation systems, and also color coded lines describing average traffic speed. Travel link will provide services such as local fuel prices, movie listings, weather forecasts and radar maps.
