The innovative jacket won the Top Pitch competition organized by British retailer Topshop.

The competition was meant for designers, who create hi-tech clothing and accessories.

The Kelvin Jacket has its own heating system and was produced by The Crated. According to their website, the unusual garment has electronic circuits components integrated into the fabric.

Even though is hosting an entire integrated circuit, Kelvin is actually very sleek and comfy. The concept was created by tech researcher Gian Cui and summer intern Teresa Lamb and the fabric called “INTELiTEX” was Madison Maxey’s idea.

“We surveyed New Yorkers to best understand if this garment could have a place in their closets, and commuters like the idea of being able to wear a blazer in winter and stay warm walking to work,” Maxey told Mic.

Although Topshop revealed their interest to invest in the young company, they did not confirm if they will produce the heated jacket.

According to their website, The Crated is a design and engineering studio that plans to combine technology and apparel.

Their team uses flexible circuitry to allow fashion companies to integrate technology into their apparel seamlessly and invisibly.
