One Of First Apple 1 Sold For Auction

One of the Apple 1 prototypes computers was sold, along with some accessories and documents for 815.000 dollars in an auction organized for charitable purposes.


Apple 1 was the first computer of the Apple Company and one of the first personal computers on the market. The device featured a 4 KB RAM, one being able to buy it at the time for $666. In 1976 there were around 200 Apple 1 computers built, of which there are only around 60 now.


The prototype was bought by an American couple, Glenn and Shannon Dellimore. It was elected this year to auction since 2016 is the 40th anniversary of the founding of Apple.

Besides the computer, a cassette interface, two boxes, one containing the BASIC programming language and different Blackjack games and Star Trek, and documentation were sold.


The auction was organized by Charitybuzz and 10% of the funds were donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.


Apple Inc., named until to January 2007 Apple Computer, Inc., is a Silicon Valley company based in Cupertino, California, with the main purpose of activity in computer technology. Best known for the Macintosh computers model, Apple has a reputation for innovation in the high tech industry.


The company is currently one of the most successful companies in the world, manufacturing not only computers but also the well-known IPhones, IPads, IPods, Iwathc and many more.


Less known facts about Apple are that the company initially had not one, but three founders, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne and they deliver their products always in first class.
