Iranian TV draws clothes on celebrities to not offend viewers

American women are used to showing some skin, especially at events. But, it seems like Iranian TV is not too comfortable with it.

As they showed Charlize Theron on stage at the Oscars, they drew clothes on her. The actress was showing plenty of cleavage, but the TV thought their viewers would be offended by this.

Not only her chest was covered, but her arms as well.

Theron is not the only one who had a part of her body covered. Anousheh Ansari, who showed a little naked area on her shoulder had it blurred by the network.

She was on stage, accepting the trophy for Best Foreign Language Film. She was the one to accept it on the behalf of a Muslim director, who could not attend the Oscars because of the immigration ban.

Asghar Farhadi is the one that won. His film, “The Salesman”, brought him the win. Because of the racist ban imposed by president Trump, he chose to boycott the event. This was his way to stand against the US president and his gesture.

The clip from the Iranian TV didn’t go unnoticed. A group, entitled “My Stealthy Freedom”, wrote on social media that this was a typical example of how Iran fears of having their women expose skin.

They think that it is shameful, but this has already been happening for years. They always do this on TV.
