Facebook introduces tourist guides to help you in your trips

Facebook wants to be a useful site from as many points of view as possible, so its latest function is designed to help you travel better.

The new feature, called City Guides appears on the mobile version of the Facebook app and offers travel recommendations in a manner similar to that of TripAdvisor.

As when it comes to the rest of the experiments conducted by the company’s officials, the new update can be found under the tab “More”.

City Guides seems to be a pretty interesting feature that offers a range of personalized recommendations on a city of interest.

The function mainly uses the ratings a city has received on the site, but also any check-ins of your friends.

You can add bookmarks to places where you want to go and they will appear in the “Saved” tab.

Currently, the function is not working properly, but, most likely, it will be resolved as soon as possible.

The new recommendations are displayed in several different sections. At the top appear, the places where your friends went will appear and by pressing on each profile, you’ll see their check-ins in that city.

Below, there are suggestions of places where the locals go, as well as the most popular attractions in town.

By pressing such a suggestion, you’ll be sent to its Facebook page, so you can access a map to discover the details of the contacts, photos, reviews and so on.

An initial version of this feature was first released in December, as digitaltrends.com revealed, and it is currently not clear whether City Guides is tested only in certain regions.

It is best for you to check if the function is active, by entering the “Explore” tab from your Facebook mobile application.

Tourist guides will appear on the last position.
