Nicola Sturgeon vows to fight Theresa May and Brexit through 2018 referendum

Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister of Scotland, said from the beginning that she doesn’t approve Brexit and she will do something about it. Now, she is more driven then ever to make her nation independent and fight Theresa May, who seems to be pushing her hand.

While May prepares to kick off Brexit, Sturgeon just declared that next year she is going to hold a referendum to pursue independence.

Sturgeon held a speech at her home in which she exposes her latest plans. She strongly believes that Scotland’s citizens have the right to choose their future. Right now, she thinks that her country has reached a crossroads that will have a huge impact on their future.

In her speech, the First Minister also revealed that she dealt with intransigence coming from the UK and their PM. The Government has not shown any wish to compromise.

Scotland does not want to be pushed away from the European Union, and UK promised them they will be able to choose their way, but until now, they only received harshness.

In the near future, Sturgeon is going to ask permission from the UK Government to hold a referendum. She plans on holding it in the fall of 2018.

A couple of years ago, Sturgeon was promised that another referendum will be held in case the circumstances change. As the government made it clear years ago that Scottish people have the right at an independence referendum, they should now be given the freedom to hold it.

The decision pretty much stands in the hands of Theresa May. She has the right to block it if she wants.
