This is not John’s first rodeo when it comes to directing. Emily Blunt’s husband made his directorial debut in 2009 with American comedy-drama “Brief Interviews With Hideous Men”.

Krasinski certainly deserves recognition for his latest production.

“The Hollars,” tells the story of an unusual family, who lives in a small middle-American town. The character interpreted by Krasinski is forced to leave New York, in order to visit his ill mother. Back in his hometown, John Hollar has to deal with his high school rival and his pestiferous fiancée interpreted by the corky Anna Kendrick.

In order to achieve that perfect dramedy vibe, Krasinski included legendary Margo Martindale in his star-studded cast.

“He’s a dream, and that’s really who he is,” she says. “It’s not an act. It was seamless from director to actor, and the environment was very protected.”, added the 65-year-old.

“The Hollars” its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January but the official release date is August 26, 2016.

Following his mother brain surgery, John is constrained by his pregnant fiancée to travel to his hometown. Although his relationship with his father and his sibling is not the exactly ideal, John solid humor helps him to get through every awkward situation.

Their mother brain tumor doesn’t affect John and his brother Ron (Sharlto Copley) in a visible way. While their mother interpreted by Margot Martindale is in the hospital, the two brothers are too concerned about their disagreements instead of taking care of her.

The cast includes actors such as Anna Kendrick, Sharlto Copley, Margo Martindale and last but least the unequaled Richard Jenkins.
