Ed Boon, the creator of Mortal Kombat and NetherRealm studio founder, appears to confirm that Mortal Kombat XL will be released on the PC as well, using a teaser.
NetherRealm released Mortal Kombat XL, the definitive version of Mortal Kombat X in March 2016, but only on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, not the PC. It brought all the extra content, but at least as important, net code improvements, an aspect where the PC version had the biggest problems. As was easily anticipated PC game owners were not at all happy, bombing reviews Steam.
Recently, Ed Boon, the director of the series, opened a vote on Twitter, where fans ask you most wish for his future MKX. Today the results were announced: XL Mortal Kombat gamers want on your PC. Boon said the players’ wishes were heard and now the new Mortal Kombat XL PC beta was released on Steam.
Gamers and not only will be able to play the game until August 29.
Mortal Kombat XL has all the four main characters from Kombat Pack 2: Bo’Rai Cho, Tri-Borg, Alien and Leatherface, the Apocalypse skin pack, had already released content like Goro, Kold War skin pack, Brazil skin pack, the Kold War Scorpion skin, all of it from Kombat Pack 1, and also updates for the game to work on the GGPO net code.
Mortal Kombat is undoubtedly the most famous series of fighting games, although perhaps not the most critically acclaimed on a competitive level. While competition, most often the originating Asian one, focused on complex and balanced combat systems. Mortal Kombat preferred a certain amount of simplicity and accessibility, complemented by a story and a universe much better developed, accompanied, obviously by an exaggerated dose of violence.
