The massive earthquake devastated several central regions in Italy.

At around 3.30am local time, the 6.4 magnitude quake destroyed the Italian province of Norcia and the number of victims is still uncertain. In Accumoli and Amatrice several buildings collapsed.
In April 2009, a catastrophic 6,3 magnitude quake struck small town of L’Aquila, near Amatrice. The calamity left behind 302 deaths and more than 1,500 severally wounded victims.
The powerful quake from last night had a 6.4 magnitude and it was very shallow – only 6.2 miles (10 km).
“Half of the town is ruined, people are still under the rubbles”, stated an Italian mayor for RaiNews24.
The mayor called the rescue teams in order to save people who were stuck under the ruins.
“In one of the areas there’s a landslip and in another one, there’s a bridge ready to collapse. People are gathering in gymnasiums and we don’t have electricity”, added him.
The earthquake also devastated the Arquata del Tronto area.

All across the country, there were reported hundreds of victims and the firemen are struggling to rescue as many people as they can.
After the earthquake stopped, the police reported an impressive number of car crashes while the transport re completely ruined.
Most of the damages were reported in the center of the state. Although, cities such as Rome, Umbria, Marche and Abruzzo felt the powerful shake as well.
According to CNN, more than 10, 000 people were affected by the natural disaster. The worst-hit towns were believed to be Accumoli, Amatrice, Posta and Arquata del Tronto.
