The Congress had to ask the president to stop deleting his tweets

Donald Trump seems to have a bit of a problem with Twitter. Pretty often, the president posts several tweets at once with his latest thoughts. Every time he has something to say or a new thing bugging him, he chooses this social media network to voice his thoughts.

After he throws a fit on Twitter, he sometimes deletes his posts. This has became a problem as the Congress had to ask him to stop deleting his posts.

Last week, a couple of members of the Congress sent a letter to the White House and the president. According to a publication, deleting tweets from the president’s official account might be a violation of the federal law. Both Trump and his staff could be accused of this.

Both the posts from Trump’s personal account and from the official one need to be persevered, because they are presidential records. Those tweets, even if deleted, need to be put in an archive. If not, this is a violation of the Presidential Record Act.

The president constantly deletes his tweets, sometimes because he misspelled. This happens all the time. For example, less than 24 hours after being in charge, he deleted a tweet after misspelling ‘honor’.

Once, Twitter users even mocked him after he edited a post twice for not being able to spell ‘hereby’ right.

During Obama’s presidency, his staff set up a method of archiving his social media activity automatically. This enabled him to correct his errors an still have the original one archived.
