The solution to persuade your children to eat their veggies

Do you want your kids to start eating broccoli or other vegetables? Researchers have shown that the brain needs time to get used to a specific dish.


So, all you need to do is to cook veggies for your family around 20 times before your little one gets used to eating healthy and he finally gets to like it.


Do not look for alternatives to healthy food. If you notice that your little one refuses cabbage, carrots or salad, do not give up after the first 2 or 3 attempts.


‘I do not like vegetables!’, says your little one. Eat them in front of him, for at least 20 times.


If you only force him to consume veggies, he will unconsciously think he is punished. In the context in which you want him to get accustomed to consuming vegetables, food rewards have nothing to do into the equation.


Offering him a candy for his positive actions is actually a discomfort for the rest of his life. If you truly want to reward him, a few words have the desired impact: ‘You did very well!’


Turning back to food caprices. The child’s refusal to eat healthy foods should not be treated with any threatens, nor he should be given vitamins or other drugs that are to induce appetite.


Psychologists say the refusal to eat has another treatment, a very simple one: alimentary interruption, for at least 6 hours.


After these hours have passed, he will require food for sure. And when he’ll ask, you can give him healthy foods and veggies and he’ll eat the dishes without even breathing.
